On a night showered by the Persoid meteors, the Milky Way and occasional slow winds made for a a far better subject to photograph. The region is worth a visit for those interested in astrophotography.

The National Pantheon (Panteão Nacional) is the resting place for several relevant Portuguese personalities. This monument was initially the Church of Saint Engrácia and although its construction began in the late 17th century, lack of funds for completing the project froze the construction until the 20th century. One very popular Portuguese expression was born from this historical fact: any apparent situation for which an ending is annoyingly not expected in the near future is named as "works of Saint Engrácia".

Resembling a river of liquid gold, this is an aerial photography of Aguieira dam, Mondego river. I was looking out the airplane window while traveling back to Lisbon, and was fortunate enough to have my camera with me and caught some really nice shots of the tiny things below.

Ending a really wonderful weekend in mid-October, this is a dusk view over the lovely village of Ferragudo, near Portimão, Algarve.

Going from Pico do Areiro to Pico Ruivo takes a 4.5 km hike with stunning views of the horizon over the Atlantic. Vertical cliff walls drop just right beside the pathway and strong winds often remind you that Nature is still ruling this place.

The stunning valleys of Madeira seen from the Red Peak (Pico Ruivo) trail. Covered by dense sub-tropical laurel forest (laurissilva) that for the most part remains intact since the island's discovery, the valleys slope down to villages and cities.

Serra do Pilar Monastery located in Gaia (Portugal), still lit during the first moments of daybreak, emerging from the soft morning mist over the Douro river, all over Porto for background.

Sunset seeping through the Pegões aqueduct four hundred year old roman architectural arches, presenting itself in golden glory. In the background you can see the Convent Of Christ (UNESCO world heritage site) main nave just above the tree line, one of the last reducts of the Templar Knights.
